Boots & Rings
How do I select the correct Boot and Ring for my Lokar Shifter?
If you have a Floor Mount or Cable Operated Shifter, use a Rectangular Boot and Ring. For Case Mount or Tail Mount, choose Rectangular or Round. We do not manufacture Boots or Rings for Electronic Sport Mode Shifters.
How do I remove the Knob to install the Boot?
Our Shifter Boots include instructions and images for knob removal based on production date.
Knobs & Levers
Which Lokar Shift Knobs work with my existing Shifter?
All Lokar Push-Button Shift Knobs with Safety Lock-Out can be used. For a knob without a button, use our Shifter Knob Adapter in 3/8-16 or 3/8-24.
Do all Lokar Automatic Knobs have shift patterns?
No. Round, Venetian, Deco, and Muscle Car Knobs do not include shift patterns.
Can I change the lever on my Lokar Shifter?
Yes. Lever Conversion Kits let you change lever length or style and include a new Inner Cable and instructions.
How do I tell if my Shifter Lever is threaded?
Threaded levers use a 15/16" wrench on the Jam Nut. Non-threaded use a 1" wrench.
What thread sizes are available for Manual Shifter Knobs?
Billet knobs use 3/8-16 or 3/8-24. Resin knobs use a 16 mm insert and include both adapters.
What is the diameter of your Round Shifter Knobs?
Billet knobs are 2 inches. Resin knobs are 2¼ inches.
Indicators & Electronics
Do I need anything besides the Indicator to make it work?
Yes. A Cable Operated Sensor Kit is required. We also offer kits that include both the Indicator and Sensor. Not offered for Electronic Sport Mode Shifters.
Can I reuse my Indicator if I change transmissions?
You may need additional parts to work with newer three-wire indicators. Contact Lokar Tech Support for help.
Do your Indicators offer additional features?
Our Cable Operated Sensor Kit also provides Neutral Safety and Back-Up Light functions, especially useful on Ford and Chrysler.
Will the Decoder Box need to be reprogrammed after a battery disconnect?
No, unless you adjust the Sensor Cable or hold the Set Switch while turning the key on.

Can I use my current Lokar Shifter for a different transmission?
Possibly. We offer Shifter Conversion Kits depending on your setup. Contact Lokar Tech for guidance.
Can I convert my Floor Mount Shifter to a Cable setup?
Yes. We offer Cable Conversion Kits for many GM and Ford applications.
Column Shift & Linkage
Do you offer Column Shift Linkages?
Yes, for GM and aftermarket columns in rod or cable styles. Ford is not supported for cable.
How long is the Column Shift Linkage rod?
Most kits include a 21 inch rod. Part No. ACA-1811 for trucks includes a 26 inch rod.
Cables & Rods
Can I order a longer shifter cable?
Yes. Standard cable is 48 inches. We offer 60 to 120 inches in one-foot increments.
I cut my linkage too short. What now?
We offer replacement rods: ATA-6901 at 15 inches and ATA-6902 at 24 inches for rod linkage applications.

Which manual transmissions are compatible with Lokar levers?
Tremec T5, T45, T56, TKO, TKX, plus adapters for NV3500 and NV1500 from 1993 to 2003.
What thread size do Manual Shift Levers use?
3/8-16 female threaded knobs.
What are the tallest Manual Shift Levers you offer?
Up to 10 inches in Billet Aluminum and up to 16 inches in Round Steel. Hardware for two-bolt flange mounting is included.
